Stingless bee honey is harvested with the greatest respect for the bees and their environment. Most of the world's stingless bee sightings occur in tropical regions. They live in cracks in trees, rocks, etc. Their colonies are constructed from organic waste, including tree resin, propolis mixed with wax, and other materials.

When compared to all the other large bees, their hives are very distinctive. Due to their small size, they are able to gather honey from the smallest and deepest flowers as well as tree resin.
